I don’t know why anyone is ever surprised when a young white male turns out to be an absolute garbage person. I find it more shocking when they turn out not to be.
No one is surprised. But he just has his rabid defenders. "He puts all the money he makes into the next video and does a lot for charity! He's a good guy!" lol stfu. Even if he doesn't necessarily have bad intentions, everything feels like an exploitative, clickbait-y Fyre Festival.
Same. There are so many YouTubers and streamers and TikTok celebs who have followings of eleventy million and then some drama comes up about them and I’m like “Who?”
oh wow. i saw an AMA someone was doing on reddit just a few days ago, but after scrolling through i moved on as i don't know mr. beast too well (and that dude was like, fighting for his life because he had doubters left and right). i was blissfully old and ignorant until now.
My family would watch his videos because they were fun and well-edited but we all agreed something was 'off' about every single one. Even if the goal of the video was to give money to charity or the like, it just felt VERY weird, uncanny valley-ish. Like there was no soul.
