Listen I love y2k nostalgia as much as any millennial but this is toooooo on the nose.

Edit: Okay I finished watching, I respect her vulnerability and it does offset the on the nose-ness of it all.

I’m very sensitive these days and I started tearing up at the bridge lol. Idk I just feel bad for anyone dealing with health problems and I feel like this song must be very therapeutic for her.

She's lucky because she was diagnosed and is able to afford treatments. I feel like when ppl say celebrities are lucky it's because they have the wealth and public identity to be taken care of.

The tragedy of Britney is that she wasn't even afforded that and now ppl will forever look at her as someone who needs help; her humanity is forever stripped from her.

Having money puts one in a better position, sure, but no sick person enjoys being told they're "lucky". Especially since lupus is incurable.

And my mom has stage 4 cancer and if even we can acknowledge how lucky she is to be able to be put on pills and have a little longer, then surely some rich celebrity can understand the same sentiment.

lucky is one of my favorite brit songs and this is nice but i don't like that it's basically just the same chorus and i don't like how she's appropriating britney's life and just making the original song about her

I don't see it as appropriating her life, I see the video that she is both the young girl, and the adult pop star. It says to me that as a girl she idolized someone like Britney and her life, and now she's an adult living out that life it's sadder and harder than she thought it would be. She's referencing Britney to show it's a cycle.
