I'm excited about this, he's a fun character. Granted it feels a bit stupid to be excited about something that is literally two years away, but ah well.

I'm also kind of excited to see Polin return and maybe just be two idiots in love, tbh, much like Kanthony this season.

Have we heard anything about Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley being back or not? I'm guessing not, but Jonathan Bailey has mentioned going back to support the other siblings, so I'm hoping for maybe a little appearance in an episode or two, if nothing else. They are - after all - heads of the house at this point. But my guess is they will be in India.

I think I remember Simone saying they would be in it… but I could be wrong. I really hope they will be. I feel like Bridgerton will continue to lose its spark if less and less of the sibs return.

I hope they bring back Daphne. It felt so off that she literally missed two of her siblings weddings this season and they didn’t even try to explain it away.

I hope so! I agree - the relationship between the siblings is one of my favourite aspects of the show (if not the favourite), and I love all of the chaotic family scenes so much.

I feel like I saw that the the Featherington sisters + husbands are not in the next season (not sure where, tbh)? If they're not, that's a whole lot of screen time that they need to fill with something interesting. Hopefully maybe some more sibling time? I get that it's weird to explain Daphne being there without Simon, but I honestly think it's way weirder for Daphne not to be there at all than for her to be there without Simon.

The Featherington Sisters provided a lot of amusement in series 3 after I found them annoying in 2. But if they don't come back, I will miss them.

this makes the most sense. the last season felt like they were basically killing time in his storyline to get to this point lol (aside from making him bi, which was great, though the weirdly edited threesome just became comical after a bit)

the bridgerton fandom is such a mess though. i found about this via my twitter feed, with someone in one faction of the fandom accusing another of whining about this, and then the NEXT tweet was someone from the second faction saying the first group is complaining already. i’ve seen nasty ship wars but those usually involve love triangles? none of these ships overlap but everyone is always fighting about them!

It’s so weird that there are ship wars for this fandom lol

I think the 2 year wait between seasons is the biggest issue causing ship wars. The other shippers know they’ll have to wait another 4 to 6 years before their seasons air, assuming the show isn’t cancelled by then. If this was a cable show they probably would’ve gotten all eight seasons aired in the span Netflix is going to end up airing 5 at this rate. I think Benophie fans were worried he’d get skipped again in favor of Eloise or Fran (and honestly there’s still a chance Jess will make Fran/Michaela a borderline A plot next season). Though I definitely think the ones who wanted Eloise next were jumping the gun too fast, especially since they have less of a fear that her book will have massive changes to her love interest compared to Benedict and Fran fans.

Honestly though I’m not sure if the Hyacinth and Gregory fans even expect their books to be adapted at this rate which is a bit of a shame because they have the fun ones.

that does make sense, and it makes me glad i’m only a casual watcher of the show (who has spoiled herself about the books lol) so i’m not all that invested in who’s next. the fandom seems… intense, but also it is ridiculous that it takes so long between seasons. 2 years for 8 episodes is obscene.

i hate that they dropped his little art side plot :(

Completely dropped, he didn’t even mention it when the man he had a threesome with asked him something about what he did for fun, it was like they could have filled his role this season with a completely random character with how different it was from the first two seasons

when that threesome man said what are you interested in and mentioned the arts i was like ok! we'll get back into benedicts passion for art yay and then nothing happened... It's like they don't want us to root for him. So disappointing :(

I expected this. Jess Brownell has talked about being excited to explore Benedict’s fluidity. I don’t think book fans are going to be happy.

The book fans are already whining in the comments on the IG announcement about it…

Benedict had one of the most disliked book arc with Eloise so his story is pretty much one of the few they can actually improve

This is good to hear, I didn't want his sexual fluidity to be something easily discarded in his season. I'll still always wish we got a male Sophie, but I know this show's fandom can't handle a mlm AND a wlw coupling, so I'll settle for whatever queerness I do get.
