I would add It Ends With Us to this list, but alas it was adapted and wasn't even Colleen Hoover's creepiest horror I mean creepy romance novel.

eta also I dare someone to even attempt a semblance of an adaptation of house of leaves. maybe as a 50 hour game, not so much a movie.

I need to finish House of Leaves so bad. I LOVE the soundtrack that the authors sister made for it. I saw the book cover above, scrolled past it and the comments to not get any spoilers lol

This book is one of the few I've ever read that I had kind of a visceral disturbed reaction to. It was so BLEAK and so unflinching, but really good.
