I remember in early 00s all those dumb VH1 celebrity shows they would always portrait her as difficult and always include her on some top 10 scandals lists
She seemed like lovely lady, with her ups and downs like any other person.

She was labeled the “bad girl” ever since she was a child. I remember a rumor that Melissa Gilbert hated her because when they worked on Little House, Shannen “stole” Melissa’s boyfriend at the time. But let’s just ignore that Shannen was 10/11 or so when she was on that show, and not call out a scumbag would date a child.

She said that because her ex cut her medical coverage she didn't have health coverage for a year.

I guess not completely preventable but it's possible that year could have made a great deal of difference and helped her get treatment earlier.

Unless I’m reading this wrong, her initial diagnosis 10 years ago was possibly delayed because of her management team’s inability to pay a bill. I’m not seeing anything about whoever was her husband at the time. Maybe catching it earlier might have helped but not for nothing, she fought for 10 years (and multiple spreads) and who knows if spreading would have happened anyway.

There was a separate claim this year against her current husband not wanting to provide medical, because since she hadn’t worked for so long she didn’t qualify for SAG insurance anymore.

I can't begin to imagine what they're all going through. I think the one that's hit me the hardest, though was seeing even Luke's daughter paid tribute to her. Which, in a way, isn't surprising given Riverdale had Shannen be the one to honor him after his passing. Still, as an 80s baby and 90s kid, losing Shannen and seeing all these tributes to both her and Luke - my FB is flooded - hits so hard. And seeing other IG tributes from people I had no idea had been friends with her so long (Butch Walker wrote a beautiful tribute) at least gives comfort in knowing how beloved she was and continues to be
