Unless I’m reading this wrong, her initial diagnosis 10 years ago was possibly delayed because of her management team’s inability to pay a bill. I’m not seeing anything about whoever was her husband at the time. Maybe catching it earlier might have helped but not for nothing, she fought for 10 years (and multiple spreads) and who knows if spreading would have happened anyway.
There was a separate claim this year against her current husband not wanting to provide medical, because since she hadn’t worked for so long she didn’t qualify for SAG insurance anymore.
It wasn't her husband that caused that lapse in health insurance, it was her managers. In 2013 her managers didn't pay her health insurance premiums for 2014 so her SAG insurance lapsed. When got her diagnoses in 2015 she believed that her cancer was allowed to spread because of that uninsured year. What happened with her husband is that because she wasn't working anymore, her residuals were going to stop since Charmed was leaving streaming and was going to be losing her SAG insurance, she wanted him to pay her spousal support and she said he was dragging his feet in court so he didn't have to pay her even though he was still spending lots of money on other stuff.
It was preventable due to medical insurance fuckery in 2014. Her business manager let her insurance lapse and docs says had she been given treatment in between, it would have been prevented from spreading.
Sorry, I shouldn't have said preventable but her initial breast cancer diagnosis and treatment was delayed because of her ex. And who knows what would have happened if she would have been able to get treatment that much earlier.
I think they're referring to this post/article here where she "claimed that Iswarienko has failed to produce documents necessary to evaluate his earning capacity, assets and income, prompting her to file a separate Motion to Compel.
“It is abundantly clear to me that Kurt is intentionally delaying settlement in hopes that I will not survive the divorce proceedings,”
I don't think we know for sure if it would have prevented the cancer or her death. She did have a gap in coverage though and visiting the doctor and time can be everything when treating cancer. Like, if they had caught it even 6 months earlier... I may be confused though because I thought the initial gap in coverage was because of an agent issue and had nothing to do with her husband, as people are claiming. Like, didn't she sue her agent for letting her own insurance lapse?
Honestly the same thing happened to my dad wrt insurance and cancer, there was a months long lapse while he was changing from a contract to a salary worker and those few months allowed the cancer to spread. The insurance situation in this country is fucking infuriating, people get worse and die because they have to wait even if they can afford treatment (and most really can't). It's a travesty, it truly is.
Shannon's death is so depressing because it was so preventable. Fuck her ex.

I guess not completely preventable but it's possible that year could have made a great deal of difference and helped her get treatment earlier.
