I haven't seen this yet but I was surprised by how much I liked X & Pearl, especially since slashers are my least favorite horror subgenre.

Idk if I can articulate it properly but X had a sense of humanizing the older villains a little bit. They had hopes and dreams and it wasn't like "oh look at these weird, old people. Aren't they WEIRD and OLD." There was more to it than that, & Idk I appreciated that aspect.
