well considering that steven yeun defended a fellow actor outright said he raped a black women

i kinda feel the death doesn't sway me as much since the actor playing that role is such a garbage person in real life

Bad television isn't made somehow better because it punishes characters played by shitty people.

This mentality is just absolutely hostile to media criticism tbh.

It’s so crazy how amc fumbled and is practically irrelevant in the tv landscape now.

they have Interview with the Vampire! unfortunately they're not very good at promoting it at all......... which baffles me considering their whole pivot to adapting Anne Rice's Immortal'verse since they got the rights to all of it???? o.o

Definitely the beginning of the end for me. I didn't stop watching immediately but after a season of Negan with no end in sight I eventually gave it up. I had plans to return but then I heard how they ended Carl and that was when I knew I'd probably never finish the show.

they literally did that to carl because the actor would now have to be paid an adult wage

at leasts thats what the rumors said

I've heard that too and I believe it, they are true villains.

The way the turn tables after that death. I was already halfway out and it wasn’t his death per se that made me stop, it was the way it happened and this may be an unpopular thought.

His last words to Maggie were so over the top and cringey. They tried to make it seem romantic in a way but good lordt. Someone in his state wouldn’t be able process a coherent sentence let alone thought.

JDM continues to be cast but I think his role as Negan really made people hate him.

that goes back to something i said about the actor who played the governer

he was waiting in line at the post office and the woman in front of him turned around notice him, froze, said i hate you and then ran out

so i can't imagine how jeffery gets treated

Oh no! Even though he was an awful character I think he was so great as the Governor. I also loved Jon Bernthal as Shane and people confuse me loving his portrayal versus the role. Shane is a POS but Jon was soooo good.

thats the same thing i do

no matter how much i hate a character

all i can think is

wow this actor is so good at their job of making me hate them

IMO it wasn't the graphic nature of the death that was the issue on its own, it's that they pulled that stunt where they had us "guessing" who would die at the end of the last season, then pulled a fakeout by having Negan kill Abraham, making us think "Oh wow, they changed Glenn's death from the comics" only to then whip around and kill Glenn in an excessively brutal gut-wrenching fashion. And this was after a Glenn death fakeout with the dumpster.

If they hadn't pulled the cliffhanger nonsense, then had Abraham die, on top of the dumpster fakeout, I don't think it would have been so controversial. Glenn was supposed to die, and he was supposed to die horribly. But he wasn't supposed to die after all that nonsense.

I didn't really watch the show regularly after Glenn died at all. I went from watching it every week to just occasionally reading spoilers.

Abraham deserved better 💔 maybe I’m biased because I like the actor but damn, he just wanted to survive and help people.

to make it more heartbreaking right before he gets hit he does that peace sign hand gesture to his girlfriend at the time who i forgot but she played michael in the newly cancelled star trek and she saw the gesture and started crying harder

breaks my heart because i was rooting for them
