Teenage Dream is a perfectl pop album (including the bonus tracks that became singles on the re-release). Hit after hit. She was the moment.

I hate that Dr Luke is all over it because it really is one of the more iconic albums from that decade. The songs, the costumes, the music videos-everything was firing on all cylinders. Kind of crazy how she and her team had such specific vibes for this era, everything was so cohesive and then they weren't ever really able to do it again with the other albums.

She really had it all and fumbled with it.

I remember loving TD when it came out and I was listening to it constantly every day for months. But then everything after that (with the exception of Dark Horse because that song slayed) I didn't care for. And then eventually she got even more insufferable in my eyes when she was willingly parading around with that nasty ass John Mayer and I was pretty much done with her after that. Even though before then I already found her annoying as fuck. Now I can't even listen to TD because the songs don't really hit like they used to? And now there is something about her tone of voice when I listen to some of the tracks that just get on my nerves. Like the way her voice wails on certain songs that reminds me of a broken car alarm. Idk. Shit has just been paranormal because she's just been dead to me for a long time, much like her career.

One of the many reasons I couldn't get into her music. Her voice is so grating 🙉

Her voice is very grating. I remember when her song Thinking of You came out forever ago and that song was especially annoying because since it's a ballad, she's wailing throughout the whole song and everyone was praising it going "Omg amazing" and meanwhile just hearing snippets of it made me want to drive myself off a cliff. When that atrocious song Daisies came out a few years ago that song also gave me similar flashbacks and also made me want to drive myself off a cliff.

I...honestly don't know how I was able to ignore it with the TD album because I loved it enough to ignore certain parts or songs when she's doing that wailing
like with Hummingbird Heartbeat because...LOL in the lyrics she goes "You make me sound like a symphony" and then proceeds to wail out the word symphony and...um...yeah. The jokes write themselves there.

Hey voice has always been torturous to me. To listen to an entire album? No. Way.
