Like, I don't mind female characters doing fucked up things and I think we should allow women in fiction to be as messy as we allow men to be, but in this particular show, choosing Allison of all characters to do something like this was always going to look suspicious, and the way that whole moment was swept under the rug like it was nothing tells me the writers don't understand the seriousness of it all.
I've always hated Luther/Allison, and the ship died when Ray was introduced, so I truly don't get why they had to vilify Allison by having her SA Luther. She's the only woman in the family, and a black woman on top of that, and the audience is never going to forgive her for this.
It's truly a shame because she was a very well written character in the first 2 seasons.

Considering that only 2 of the 17 people confirmed being contacted about the 2023 complaint, I wouldn’t be surprised if this Rolling Stone piece was the first that Elliot knew about what Blackman said. The article said Elliot declined to comment so I hope that if this was their first exposure to Blackman’s texts that it was handled sensitively rather than just blurted out.
Another thing mentioned in the article was that Blackman often said positive things to people’s faces and then talked shit/complained about them behind their backs. I wonder if the cast was mostly protected from this (since abusive people are often aware enough to keep the people who they deem important out of their worst behavior and concentrate on shitting on more vulnerable people).
Regardless of when Elliot learned what Blackmman said, it must have been really upsetting to find out that a person who you thought was being supportive was saying things like this to other people.
ugh that all sucks so much. i don't follow elliot super closely but i always got the sense he was really proud the show supported him and that he was able to reflect his transition on screen with viktor. he's also usually really outspoken about homophobia and transphobia and if he was caught off guard by this, it must be really hard to know how to handle it publicly with a show you'd previously been proud of and are still probably contractually obligated to promote.
