Normani posted to social media to explain why she had to pull out from performing at the BET Awards, and it was because she unfortunately had an accident during rehearsals and injured herself. She also posted a photo of her wrapped leg.

I listened to her new album and I love it.

It's honestly a sonically good mid-tempo album. Take My Time my is amazing. Idg why it's flopping.

because there is absolutely zero promotion by anyone on her team. to be honest i was (pleasantly) surprised she was meant to open the BET awards. literally have only seen people talk about her album on twitter, and the occasional vulture article halfway making a joke about the album finally being released.

agreed that it's a fantastic album!

I was shocked to find out it's not even getting a physical release!? Though sidenote, I still can't get over this strange moment we're in where some US stores don't even really have CD sections anymore, but the vinyl section is prominent.

oh wow, i didn't even know that!

yeah i happened to be in the music section of target the other day, and i can't believe how much it's changed since the 2000s. what used to be aisles full of CDS of every genre is just an end cap with the 47 versions of taylor swift albums on CD and a handful of random vinyls (pink floyd, shakira, bob marley, lana del ray)

I watched the performance, and they probably changed things last minute, but what exactly did she do to finish in the hospital with a boot? Was she jumping from the roof?
