Normani posted to social media to explain why she had to pull out from performing at the BET Awards, and it was because she unfortunately had an accident during rehearsals and injured herself. She also posted a photo of her wrapped leg.

It’s interesting to see just how much Twitter discourse there still is re: Normani - just goes to show that Twitter engagement doesn’t necessarily equate to commercial streams/success.

Though regardless of charts, I think Dopamine is a very solid album! It’s one of my favs this year so far

I feel like if she's smart she'll build up an audience and grow from there. Plenty of musicians have done that despite not being mainstream successes.

For better or worse she'll still got people talking about her.

i can definitely see normani going the tinashe route (developing a smaller devoted fanbase with good music/collabs, then a random single blows up in the mainstream)

I was curious about it. She just released a full new album, it would have been the perfect opportunity to promote her songs. Did BET maybe not offer that for her?
