enjoyed this one so much more than the us version these days. i haven't been able to last more than a week of a us season (other than 21) but have hung in for all bbcan seasons; much better twists, house, and comps. i never watched live feeds, just kept up with what was going on through twitter, but that def killed it, but iirc, they almost got cancelled sometime earlier but got a second life, so it was probably inevitable either way

so happy bayleigh won and got to be the final winner then

The best things about BB Canada were Arisa and the “house.” The last 2 seasons without live feeds sucked and bringing back Anthony and Spicy V for season 12 made it damn near unwatchable. It’s a shame the producers had to neuter the show to appease the sponsors who paid for it. There were some damn good seasons but I can’t say I’ll miss it since it turned into a shell of what it started out as.

I am more annoyed that they shut down AM 730 - traffic station in Vancouver - as part of these cuts. Yes you can get traffic on Google maps but knowing that tow truck is on scene when you are in bumper to bumper traffic always made me feel better vs my ETA continuously getting pushed out. Or how long the border waits are.

100000%!!!! AM730 was the best and I don't even drive most of the time.

RIP. No traffic none of the time :(

Not saying Big Brother is high art or anything, but the last few weeks have been brutal to the art/enrichment sector. Ontario Place and Science centre, the Great Canadian Pottery Showdown, a few independent theatres and community based practices.
It's fucking bleak

It feels like Canada is just a bleak wasteland of no arts and entertainment

As someone who works in the arts, it's not just bleak, we feel like we're in the end times. Grants are being slashed left and right. Support any local arts when you can, not just with money but share their stuff on your feeds, anything at all can help bring attention to us. It's not good.

I gave up on this show once they shut down the livefeeds. I'm not even Canadian and didn't really watch them but without them there's SO much context missing and houseguests of color are way more likely to be treated like shit without anyone knowing and pushing back.
