the word iconic is so overused but he really earns it. he makes every project he's in better, and i remember his performances as standouts in everything i've seen him in. he raised the bar of reality TV hosting. love love love him.

Kind of a small thing but his accents are always so great, too. When you hear him talk in real life it's almost jarring because he does such great American and British accents. You'd never guess. He's always so good in so much that he does. Love him!

Like 15 or so years ago, before Jon Favreau became famous for Iron Man and all the big stuff he's doing now, he hosted this amazing show called 'Dinner For Five' on IFC. He'd just have 5 random actors talk about their careers and the business over dinner and it was like my favorite show.

I found out from that that Alan was Scottish. He was just about to start filming X2 and was talking about how crazy it was going from independent movies to well known, super hyped up movies. It was the first interview I'd ever seen of him and when I first heard him talk I thought he was faking it. It was such a shocker. But he was such a genuinely nice guy. He talked about the press around putting out his fragrance called 'Cumming' and I loved him after that. And the perfume smelled pretty good, too, lol.
