Dang I think the most expensive I’ve seen listed on auction was one for $1.5 million - thank god it wasn’t a Richard Mille.
I’m no horologist but have been getting more into watches and their craftsmanship. I treated myself to a vintage Longines watch from the early 70s for my 30th. I’d like a vintage DolceVita with a leather strap for my next watch.
i used to dream of the art deco tiny gemstone bracelet watches! i find myself gravitating towards larger faces for favourites because i can't read the little ones even w/my contacts and reading glasses!
it doesn't feel that much of a vintage characteristic. the large face feels way more modern.
although if my dream watch ever appeared i'd somehow found £500 even though i probably wouldn't be able to read it. it's the only time i've ever fallen in love with a watch! it was 10+ years ago and i don't think the brand even makes their own watches anymore. they have a watch *shop* but don't make their own anymore

Get money, Sly. If you could sell one of your watches for almost 5.5 million why wouldn't you?

I do love the Cartier Tank Française.
