She's talented, but DAMN talk about quick and over exposure. I feel like she's going to be lightning in a bottle unfortunately. I don't mean that as a slight toward her, I just mean culture can be super cruel to someone who rises this quickly. I hope it's not the case.
I think Olivia’s rise with DL was very quick like this too. Maybe less grand but still pretty crazy fast. I’ve noticed with both of them and actually with Sabrina’s rise as well, that every comment is about them being industry plants and there are so many old men complaining about them. I’m convinced that older people can’t accept new gen music so they have to label any success as a plant.
I see people going wild with industry plant comments on artists in every genre these days, it's getting a bit wild. I even saw people accusing a rising metal act of being an industry plant and I was like 'Ah yes the most popular genre of all time, black metal. Great business move' and the poor dude doesn't even have a record label to back him up :') He releases everything independently.
I think people are forgetting that these days if you promote yourself well with a fun image you only need a little spark to light a whole fire with the way that locating things within your zone of interest is so easy with social media. If you go even a little viral you have a big chance to try and break into the scene in a broader way.
Metalheads who claim bands/artists being industry plants crack me up. Like just admit you don’t like artists over 4 monthly listeners on Spotify and move on!
I know I'm not with the youth anymore because she seems to be "here" suddenly and all over my feed. In the maybe 4 days I've heard of her there's already so much discourse and I start to feel that artist that connect in any shape of form with an LGBTQIA+ sphère is doomed to be used as a vessel to attack some groups. First it was the str8 that shouldn't (?) be at her concerts, then it was the gays because it was a woman only event (??) then it's how her drag is more authentic than some Drag Race contestant (???) and I'm like 👁️👄👁️ I still have no idea what kind of music she makes and the fandom is already so annoying I don't feel like I should even listen to it lol
Why are you letting people sway you either way? People are always gonna be loud and wrong on the internet. If you wanna give her album a listen just do it.
It never happened to you? You hear about something or someone one day and don't think much of it but in the end, you know more about conversations concerning that thing/person than the art/craft/thing itself?

It sounds like the key is half a step lower in the performance.
