A lot of people on reddit were saying Danny was cocky and smug and what not but I just don't see it?
I was rooting for Dan and Savannah but Danny def had the better dishes for the finale. It's torture watching these, I want to try everythinggggg.
So sad about James Kent. So young too. He's the second person I've read that had a heart attack at 45 and it's just so young that it's really making me realize I am not getting any younger and really need to get my health and fitness in check. It must be a confusing time for Danny - something so amazing and so sad happening around the same time.
I said Danny was cocky and smug right here two weeks ago. He's always been like that, it's funny to me when people don't see it. Unlike Savannah, who came to learn and grow, Danny came in with the idea that he knew more than everyone else and instead of learning, he was just going to do it his way and show everyone how he knew best. His attitude has been annoying from the first episode.
Not sure Danny had the best dishes but he had the prettiest dishes, which is the way it seems to go a lot of the time on Top Chef. They skew high end over flavor, so if you know how to make a beautiful presentation, they will overlook the fact that you forgot to salt your scallops, served half-cooked lobster and a dish that the judges weren't sure how to eat. As long as it looks elegant and expensive, you'll get the win.
The amount of basic cooking mistakes that plagued these folks to the very end... definitely not a standout season in the Top Chef lore. Also hilarious to me how the finalists leaned so hard on fish and tropical items in their menus, you'd think the entire season was in the carribean. Wisconsin who?
I'm currently watching and they just announced the winner and I am shocked? Based on the comments I thought for SURE it was Dan? They loved everything he made, but Danny had a dish they disliked, a first dish that badly needed salt, an undercooked lobster... like there were multiple flaws in his dishes, I'm truly stunned I thought it was so so obviously Dan! woah i didn't see that coming at all
I was surprised that Danny won because the judges specifically went through each round of courses and overall Dan had less negative comments than Danny, so I thought he was going to win.
the 6-week break was not kind to her (and I really don't like her fiance proposing during that time like wtf why would you add something to her plate). I hope she comes back in the future!
I didn't like that he proposed during the interim either. Like he couldn't have waited six more weeks until she wrapped up this season? I am always suspicious when people choose to propose close to another major life event, like they're trying to mark their territory so they can claim this person's success as their own. I also hate when people propose on holidays or birthdays. Pick a different date, you lazy ass!
