I’m mad that we had so much of the season with Colin and Pen at odds and they didn’t spend their wedding night together. Freaking Anthony and Kate all over again. Someone tell the writers we like seeing the couples happy!! I don’t want just snippets in other seasons!

I guess we’ll probably eventually get more Colin/Pen than Anthony/Kate since they have less commitments but the fuck, they’re already parents! We missed everything!

Liked it overall, a lot of the things I wasn't sure how they'd manage with the book changes worked. Appreciated that they gave Cressida a more reasoned and less moustache-twirly motivation for pretending to be Lady W/blackmailing Penelope. I still don't think they really dealt with the repercussions of some of Penelope's writing, outside of Eloise being so pissed, but this is Bridgerton and everyone has to be happy ever after lol.

I already said in the other thread I dislike the vibe that they're going to make John less "one of Francesca's two great loves" and more "the guy she likes but ultimately settled for," I rally liked them together, but it was only one moment so there's time for S4/5 to prove that vibe wrong lol. Masali seems very charismatic so I hope she makes a whole lot of racists seethe with her success

I agree! I was hoping it was going to be more of a brief handshake/nod to the fans in an IYKYK kind of way. Part of the charm of the book is that Michael was truly 3rd wheeling and Francesca was initially annoyed about it lol

I think Eloise was distracted by her loyalty to Penelope and Colin and not wanting to incriminate herself, and fell short of being the friend Cressida needed at the time. So Cressida reverted to form, which was fitting with her character. I'm hoping some time away will improve both girls and we'll see more permanent growth from them, because this season got me really invested in that friendship.

Penelope and Portia/Penelope and her sisters was EVERYTHING to me this season, that was the real love story. Self-love, familial, friendship, etc. We definitely could have done with a little more Colin POV in the romance department.

The only weird thing about using Yellow was it was already used for the big wedding scene in Crazy Rich Asians. But I like your insight into the choice and that makes me like it better.

that's true re: Eloise! I do hope that they both address their friendship again, it would be nice to see more growth from Cressida in particular because it doesn't sound like they're really following her book storyline, so maybe she can have more to do.

YES! I loved the Featheringtons this season! that was such a great arc for all of them tbh. Yeah it felt like Colin was underused when you compare him to the male leads of seasons 1 and 2.

I agree with you on everything here but the whole sailing away to India while Kate is pregnant struck me as out-of-character for Anthony considering his whole trauma with Hyacinth’s birth. And this is the early 19th century so maybe let’s not push it, Anthony??

it wasnt fast enough for me ia, more happy scenes for polin ould have been amazing 😭 but tbf the dude took a couple of days to go from "I hope lady whistledown falls down a well" to "let me hold your tailcoats for you forever my beautiful babe" so really boy did pretty good considering.

It really showed that they changed showrunner this season. Is too late to bring the S1 and S2's writers back for S4?

As always fuck Penelope. A shitty person that the show coddles too much. The way she got away with writing awful things about these people was disgusting. And Polin is a flop pairing. That's what she deserves.

I don't care about gender-bending aspect of Francesca's story, but I'm super disappointed by the way they undermined John and her. They were the actual good couple of the season. And that makes me not really care about Michaela and her.

Everyone make up was terrible this season.

I haven't finished season 3 but getting spoiled for John and Francesca was so disappointing. I don't care/applaud gender bent Michael but John and Francesca were so sweet in the first half and I was rooting for them.
