I think Eloise was distracted by her loyalty to Penelope and Colin and not wanting to incriminate herself, and fell short of being the friend Cressida needed at the time. So Cressida reverted to form, which was fitting with her character. I'm hoping some time away will improve both girls and we'll see more permanent growth from them, because this season got me really invested in that friendship.

Penelope and Portia/Penelope and her sisters was EVERYTHING to me this season, that was the real love story. Self-love, familial, friendship, etc. We definitely could have done with a little more Colin POV in the romance department.

The only weird thing about using Yellow was it was already used for the big wedding scene in Crazy Rich Asians. But I like your insight into the choice and that makes me like it better.

that's true re: Eloise! I do hope that they both address their friendship again, it would be nice to see more growth from Cressida in particular because it doesn't sound like they're really following her book storyline, so maybe she can have more to do.

YES! I loved the Featheringtons this season! that was such a great arc for all of them tbh. Yeah it felt like Colin was underused when you compare him to the male leads of seasons 1 and 2.

ohh I'm glad you like my insight! yeah I also thought of that scene in Crazy Rich Asians lol (which was great). ♥ I pretty much always associate Penelope with yellow so it worked so well, even if they didn't do that intentionally haha

I agree with you on everything here but the whole sailing away to India while Kate is pregnant struck me as out-of-character for Anthony considering his whole trauma with Hyacinth’s birth. And this is the early 19th century so maybe let’s not push it, Anthony??

ohh true, I didn't even think of that aspect! I was too caught up in how sweet he was for wanting the bb to know they're a Sharma too.

Agreed, when she was saying the journey would take months I was thinking 'you gonna do that to a pregnant woman?'

I feel like it would have made more sense for them to head to India because he wants to see her family/home and then find out they're pregnant there or on the way or something.

It would have absolutely made more sense! They could have had them go on their ~second honeymoon~ TO INDIA and find out she’s with child instead of having two separate clunky exits for them where it’s like “ok hello and goodbye we’re going on our 2nd honeymoon” and later “now Kate is with child so let’s take a several month journey by boat to India when childbirth is already dangerous enough oh well!”

I know Jonathan Bailey was booked and busy, but they also could have excused his absence like “oh Anthony is busy with the House of Lords or the estate” and give Kate a little more to do with the Bridgerton family and her new Viscountess role.

I don't know if I'll finish the season but Eloise's reaction to Cressida's plea for attention really pissed me off. Like she is about to be sold off to be raped and Eloise is like "hmm, yeah I care just busy" and then turns around and tells someone else "Yeah, I feel like the friendship has run its course". What in the ever loving fuck?

I just hate that this show is so casual about marital rape. I should have learned my lesson about this long ago, they treat it as not a big deal, or a joke, or a punchline. It's a fantasy it doesn't have to exist AT ALL.

...it was an extremely common scenario. Seems fair to have it included. certainly wasn't portrayed as ideal or romanticized, even in past seasons.

I remember the actors talking about which songs would be on their wishlist and I think Luke Newton said he wanted Yellow cause Penelope always wore yellow. And it's definitely why they used it but don't know if they picked it independently haha.
