The people I know irl who saw Stereophonic walked out bc it was so bad. But here it is winning everything.

What's the consensus on it?

I watched the Purlie Victorious pro-shot on PBS and came away from it thinking that Kara Young stole the show so I'm really happy she won. Also, I'm even more blown away hearing her actual speaking voice.

Happy for the Merrily wins, and I hope I'm able to lay eyes on that pro-shot! And hopefully that Linklater film if it doesn't collapse in the next twenty years.

I came out 50/50 on my predictions on Gold Derby which isn't too shabby. Even the ones I was wrong on, I still guessed them as runners up.

The casting for the Linklater film seems so weird because after watching this production of Merrily I kind of see Platt as way more of a Franklin Shepard than a Charlie lmao

i was really rooting for stereophonic so i’m happy with how well they did, even if their performance was way too short! the performance for water for elephants was so cool!! i feel bad they didn’t win anything, maybe at least choreography, but i also understand why illinoise won, it was well-deserved!

i do wish the sound mixing and camera angles (like other people have said) had been better, it was so apparent during the performances, especially stereophonic and water for elephants.

also wish they wouldn’t shove off the technical wins to the preshow, like how does best choreography not get awarded during the main show?? plus the speeches in act 1 were really beautiful and funny, like hana s. kim and cody spencer’s f-bomb breaking the whole stream.
