Go figure Inside Out 2 is on par with Barbie since that’s the last movie I saw in theaters too. I rarely go to the theater anymore.

But I really enjoyed IO2. Definitely hit me in the feels multiple times.

Spoil something for me

does riley get her period in this film and this causes a new emotion to appear?

I'm just guessing btw

Regarding your question [Spoiler (click to open)]no, the puberty alarm that was installed at the end of the previous film goes off, which leads to a bunch of new emotions arriving. The only physical manifestation is acne, but the movie only covers a span of about three days.

HOLY SHIT, that is WILD!! Good for the box office! I am sure theaters were not prepared for that, but hopefully they could call in more folks to manage the crowds. Glad I was not trying to see anything this weekend!!

We watched Mikey and Nicky (1976) at home last night, and that was good, but very rough around the edges. Peter Falk rules.

I read on /r/boxoffice that Cinemark had to add a queue on their website for online ticket booking.

god Mikey and Nicky is one of my faves. i'm sure you heard the stories of how elaine may had to literally hide reels from paramount bc she didn't want them to have final cut

I watched an episode of the Japanese My Love Mix-Up, and then fell asleep during the next episode lol.

I kind of miss going to the movie theater, but there are no movies that seem interesting enough for me to blow money on where I may have to deal with annoying, loud talking, on the phone texting/playing games movie goers. I miss being really into movies tbh.

I saw Inside Out 2 on Thursday night (first 3D movie in quite a while, since at this point I only see that format when it's an animated film with limited 2D showings or directed by James Cameron). It's not the first film, which I think is one of Pixar's very best (and best since at least 2010), but it's quite good, and builds on the first film in an entertaining and meaningful way. Performance-wise, Maya Hawke absolutely runs away with it.

I also rewatched The Lion King yesterday, which was the 30th anniversary of its release. Mmm-mmm, that's good nostalgia.

Yeah, Maya did great. I'm all for people working on their craft and improving even if they got a leg up with their nepo status.
