It's good if celebrities speak up, but making a social media post does not preclude them from helping IRL. Look at Amal Clooney. Besides, a lot of celebrity social media activism or their public activism of any kind is very performative and self-serving, anyways. Many celebrities are very stupid, which is why a lot of them are better off quietly helping behind the scenes by supporting good charities.

That said I don't think they're above criticism either, cause it funny seeing the celebs who are usually vocal about similar issues but quiet for others.
ETA: Plus the threats of blacklisting are going on, we had a post earlier in the week about that. Obvs some of these celebs won't be effected but we don't really know about small-to-mid level celebrity get effected.
