Something doesn't add up. He's lying about what really caused his credit to fall like that and not be easily resolved and repaired. A credit card missed payment for two months would not be this big a deal tbh. You'd just pay it off and then keep making on time payments and be able to undo this in a fairly fast amount of time. Now, if you owe thousands, millions...hmmm. if you are not paying mortgage or car note for months, that hits different. I just don't buy that this is as simple as 'I missed two months on my Discover.'

That’s not true at all. Missing any payment fucks up your credit UNLESS you call the vendor and have them remove the ping. You have to plead your case. Paying delinquent amounts doesn’t reset your credit.

Enough not to be able to get an apartment for months, though? 🤔

Tbh I don’t really get credit scores. Mine is over 800 but they keep scolding me bc I don’t have a history of loan payments. Like yeah, bc I don’t spend what I don’t have and you won’t catch me buying things I can’t afford? My bf drives me nuts tho bc he has no credit cards and just uses his debit card for everything and he is not understanding he needs to build credit and a credit card is an easy way to do that, not to mention more consumer protection work credit cards

Because the system and the idea is really stupid. It's basically a way to track your spending to build a profile on you to sell you shit.

"he is not understanding he needs to build credit and a credit card is an easy way to do that"

People are either completely reckless or deathly afraid of CCs. Just pay off the balance every month. And get a card with perks. I use my Amex Blue for skymiles.

Same they always tell me I don’t have enough variety of credit lines or some shit and I should open a second card. Literally for what?? To never use it?

Not paying your credit card bill for 2 months doesn’t make your credit score drop 80 points. He’s playing fast and loose with the facts.

It does y’all… missing a payment is one of the worst things for your credit score.
I remember a professor saying this in my financial real estate class. You have to call and essentially beg the establishment to remove the mark on your record and that is if you do that in time.

I think he probably didn't have a 730 to begin with, and that's the Credit Karma score (which is usually inflated 30+ points), but ethically I have to point out that yes, a 60 day late payment can set you back that much. It's an extremely punishing system and on-time payment is 35% of the score (the biggest factor).

bad credit/low to no money but moving to NY? i don't think so babes.
i'll never understand how people with financial issues think it's a good idea to move to an expensive city ...

Right? And it says he said he would financially support his fiancee. So I'm thinking dude was just furthering himself into debt. And tbh I think homeboy had a good amount of debt before he went on that show that he hid. The Bachelor is not the cash juggernaut for people it once was. It's like what Bravo Housewives do. The think the show will fund a lifestyle and cover up their debts but it doesn't.

Most Housewives are fronting a lifestyle anyway or scamming like Jenn Shah and Teresa Guidice. They still have to pay for glam and stylists which takes a chunk out of their salary.
