Anyways, I think pageants are super fucking dumb. I have more of a problem with child pageants, those need to stop. Adult ones, at least they're adults.

i think you’re right, to a point. in the phillipines her being darker, and biracial that’s not half white is important but in/across black diaspora her being mixed and (relatively) lighter skinned means she’s elevated. it depends on the lens you’re looking at it with, and since she’s from the philippines i think that one is more important
