ALL of the hostages could have been safely released a long time ago. Instead, many of them are dead and thousands of Palestinians have been murdered. Like, fuck Hamas, but the idea that any part of the Israeli administration is any better is fucking ridiculous. They are colonial, racist, genocidal monsters. And they have been allowed to cultivate these attitudes over decades because Western allies have enabled it.
