Love this top 4. Putting them on a cruise tho???

Dan got so lucky. I can't tell if the physical strain is taking it's toll (justifiably) or if he's mentally starting to choke with the way his creativity was flopping.

Yeah, I think Dan is stressessing. He was lucky he didn’t get sent home because, at least episode, I feel like he was the weakest and the judges seemed to agree, but I wonder if for the top four they realized Manny was just not worth it.

I think Laura is playing it safe and she's done stuff from her restaurant then claimed she was doing new things, so she should go. She also has restaurants so she doesn't need this.

Dan is struggling but he seems great so I kinda hope he wins Fan Fav. He has a restaurant so he doesn't necessarily need this.

Danny is amazing and consistent. I think he has a restaurant coming so he maybe needs this, maybe not.

Savannah is coming into her own and she does a ton of prep... makes me root for her. She would really benefit from this.

Laura has definitely made more than one dish that was from her restaurant and then presented it to the judges less than honestly (by not admitting this is something she makes regularly). I have more respect for the chefs who aren't just finding ways to make dishes they know fit the weekly challenges. Laura has been very calculating throughout the season so I'm not surprised that she's done this several times.

This is not the final four I expected when I watched the season premiere, but they all seem to make good food.

Danny seemed a bit stronger earlier in the season. I think Savannah might be peaking at the right time to win though.

agreed to all... early on, I expected Danny, Michelle, Rasika, and I don't know who I'd have put in the 4th spot, though they seemed to make us expect it to be Soo.

A+ to the editors for the side by side comparisons during the blind taste test. I love how everyone is always so confident going into it and then we see people getting less than half of the ingredients (or less) correct.

Manny seems to get along with all of the other chefs so I'm guessing he's a nice guy, but he should have been eliminated weeks ago. Props to his tongue scraping and excellent palate during the blind taste test though. 23/26 is pretty impressive.

ETA: what's with the "legally blind" theme this week? First Jake Gyllenhaal claiming he's legally blind when he just needs to wear contacts and now Savannah saying she was "almost legally blind" when she was younger (and somehow wearing an eye patch fixed everything?).

I was happy to see Manny go, he should have gone last week with his gummy risotto. He lacked creativity and he didn't follow the brief for this last challenge, he just made something he always makes, it showed no growth. It always bothers me when a chef doesn't follow the brief and then they don't get kicked out, so I was glad he didn't escape yet again ( ... )
