At this point I'm cynical enough to think that she means that if it wasn't her, it would just be another nepo baby cause that's what production wants, not legit talents, just guaranteed optics.

I'm assuming she means that it wouldn't help make the system more fair, which is true. Obviously another person would get that one part, but it wouldn't necessarily fix the system. Even if every nepo baby quit, Hollywood would still be all about connections and looks and favors and never really a true meritocracy, unfortunately. You're right that she worded it terribly though.
