• Momsen was playing in Sevilla when a small bat attached itself to the lace on her slip dress
• The crowd kept warning her but she didn't understand for awhile
• An enterprising stage hand shook the dress to get it off
• The bat is okay but unfortunately Momsen was bitten and will have to get the rabies vaccine
• She joked

i know rabies is absolutely horrible, but when i was in elementary school we'd have a bat that would come every year to roost? in one of the alcoves of the school building until on year some other kids disturbed it too much and it never came back :(

but idk why the adults just let it happen year after year without like, trying to block off the area from us kids? we could get pretty close during recess tbh.

It’s strange they didn’t stop you guys because bats are legally protected in many countries (including the US), so they could’ve gotten in trouble for that.

i think no one cared or thought about it tbh. i didn't know bats were a protected species here until a few years ago.

that's so heartbreaking to me that no one thought to call animal control or a rescue org (tho it's possible there weren't any as they are sadly rare) and help the poor bat. it was probably terrified.
