"Pachinko" Season 2 Debuting in August

Apple shared the new season 2 opening credits of Pachinko to announce that the show will return August 23. The show scored an Emmy nom for its season 1 opening title sequence, which can be seen here. New stills were also released, which are under the cut.

For those that read the book; do they stay close?

i read the book right before s1 dropped so my memory is a little rusty on both, since it’s been a couple of years. with that said, from what i remember they stick pretty close to the major plot lines of the book. there’s a few subplots they change up. the biggest change is noa’s (sunja’s son) storyline, but there’s still room for them to continue the book storyline there in season 2.

kind of? but instead of progressing in a linear timeline they jump back and forth between three periods which i did not enjoy.

this was one of my favourite reads of the past few years. I've recommended it to so many people who loved it too. I need to start this show!!

I love the opening credits--will not be hitting "skip intro" on this.

ugh, i’ve loved this book for forever and i was stunned throughout watching the entire first season. my sister even got hooked halfway in, never having reading the book or knowing what was going on in the storyline, just due to how beautiful and captivating it was to watch onscreen. and then we were both bawling by the end!!! so excited for this, but definitely need to rewatch the first season before because i can’t remember all the discrepancies between season 1 and the book and what all was or wasn’t laid out
