I could not get into this Trek at all. I kept trying but just gave up. Lower Decks won me over and the final season of Picard was good.

DS9 will always be my favorite.

Same. Just never felt like Trek to me.

I loved this Trek so much I’m sad it’s gone. The first season I loved it. I don’t care it was a departure. It was just on Paramount+ and I could not buy another monthly sub just for this one show to come back every now and then.

I talked to a Trekkie about this show saying how amazing it was, and featuring women in the cast, making more women the focal point. And he was like yeah I don’t like that, it should not be a thing… it’s not like the old days of Trek… and THEN he said, why do movies have to change and be like the same but with women. I was like what?!?! He’s a Dad to 3 girls. Who knew he was an insecure incel all along. So sometimes I’m motivated to watch just to show up guys like that.

I had to unfollow the Star Trek insta because every single gd post about disco had nasty men complaining about it endlessly. The same demo also hates the new Star Wars shows. It's very pathetic and their tantrums always ended in bigotry.

urgh that's so gross. Michael was such a great part of the show, but it failed moreso because it leaned into her TOO much, plus the melodrama was so over the top it actually eventually got me to stop watching. It felt like a show that was more informed by Tumblr discourse than by anything deeper than teenager's angst diaries.

Ngl I wonder if this is one of those shows that's gonna be reevaluated differently years from now

oh like how DS9 struggled to find its audience while it was airing but is now praised pretty effusively?

I kinda hope so. It didn't always work but it tried to do some fresh different things. Also without it, we wouldn't have hot Space Daddy Captain Pike.

I don't think so lol, it was incredibly painful to get through way too often. That said, if the ending is good that will help. I haven't watched s5 and I love trek, and most fans seem to be not into it.

It's not like Enterprise has been re-evaluated as some sort of great television. It just happened.

I've definitely heard a lot of people say the later seasons of Enterprise are underrated

And only two good and worthy seasons produced ...

Yeah the first two seasons were really good. But the quality took a nosedive after the jump to the future.

I'll miss the show, but I really only got into the first 2 seasons, and gave up entirely somewhere in the middle of S3. It just never felt like an ensemble show, which is what Trek is all about.

(I'll really miss Lower Decks, though. That show is tremendous in every aspect.)
