considering how minimalist jamie lloyd is, im surprised he didnt make it punch hard like sunset blvd. Legit thought he'd make tom pull something unexpected out of him.

i think it helps a lot that the sunset blvd revival is soooooo different from its original staging whereas romeo and juliet has been done numerous times and has had so many interpretations i can understand a bit of fatigue and also boredom from if the staging isn't wildly inventive.

what an extremely dumb decision. It's like the opposite of accessibility, and for no good reason at all.

This would drive me absolutely bonkers. I’d already be struggling without being able to read subtitles. If I can’t hear what they’re saying what is the point

A friend saw this play, and 2 seconds of Tom as he was leaving the theater afterwards, and had nothing but praises for it. That coming from a person that barely likes any movies tells me how good this play actually is, not some Hollywood Reporter article (no offense to any THR readers though I doubt we have any here)
