I put a lot of the blane on GRRM for abandoning the series in 2011 tbh. He told HBO he'd write ahead of the show then did the opposite.

imo the show went downhill fast after the second season, so. 🤷 It wasn't surprising that they bungled the finale.

legit, I was already wavering during s2, but then I stopped watching a few episodes into s3 and my life has been better for it

I've been watching random GoT clips on youtube, and that show had so many great moments in the earlier seasons. It always had plenty of problems, too, but at least the characters and dialogue were nuanced and driven and interesting. It remains a travesty that it ended in the truly stupid way that it ended.
