It seemed naive back then as well but I still enjoyed Leslie and the show had some good moments.

I don’t think it would necessarily be greenlit today but some of us have had cynical views on politics since they could understand politics.

I mean, it was definitely naive then, too? But no, Parks and Rec would NOT have worked after a Trump election. The COVID reunion they did felt so dumb.

It was always naive LOL it was obvious nobody who wrote for the show ever had anything to do with local government, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it!

Except for Leslie's irrational hatred of the library >.> which was weird considering Leslie was clearly a big Franzen fan.

I don’t think it was that she hated all libraries, just the local Pawnee one because of the people who worked there

exactly lol. I think if they had written a joke about this when they visited London, they probably would've made Leslie be irrationally annoyed at some librarian who was being perfectly nice. It was really just Pawnee libraries.
