‘Shōgun’ is a limited series no more: FX is gearing up for more installments of the historic drama.
The renewal was expected and foreshadowed by star-producer Hiroyuki Sanada closing a deal to continue as Lord Yoshii Toranaga

Yeesssss, I am here for Anna and Moeka and Tadanobu and Hiroyuki sweeping the board in the acting categories.
(Not entirely sure how I feel about more seasons, as I love the book and where it - and the show - ends, but the Edo period is so rich & ripe for exploring, so I'm down, as long as they keep this same crew and level of commitment to excellence)

first of all, i wanna say that shogun deserves all the awards and more. that series is must see tv right there. also, anna sawai is a star and i hope to see her in more shows.
anw so we're turning shogun into a taiga (historical) drama?
i mean... i'm not mad at it and tokugawa ieyasu (the person whom toranaga was based on) had a very interesting life. if that's the direction seasons 2 and 3 will go, i'm perched. i've only read shogun and not clavell's other novels, so i can't argue for or against the direction of following his universe.

I honestly think they should leave it alone & just adapt the other books next.
I like the idea of doing a mini-series of a book adaption, I am not a fan of trying to stretch it into more seasons beyond the book.
I did think it was a very well done show, and one of the few subtitled shows I was willing to watch which says a lot. I just don't really think it needed any more seasons.
