the book "shogun" was based on historical events, and afaik it doesn't cover all of those events. so there's definitely still material to pull from history with regards to the people that shogun's characters were based on.

tbh like I can imagine extending this pretty easily bc its already historical fanfiction. so write fanfiction for the historical fanfiction and have some fun with it.

I loved how it ended, but I'm not mad about more of it.

I'm glad it'll be in the drama categories instead of limited series, since those categories will be a bloodbath with Baby Reindeer, Fargo, Ripley, The Sympathizer, True Detective, etc. all competing.
