I don't know anything about this musical and I wasn't a fan of the movie, but I love Joy Woods, who plays middle Allie, specifically for her duet to the Punxsutawney Phil song on Tiktok. I literally listened to it again yesterday.

I absolutely loved this musical when I visited NY earlier this year. I went purely because seeing Joy Wood's Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors was life-changing but I was really shocked by how emotionally affected I was about the show and how much I love the music.

The song "I wanna go back" where the two younger Allies are singing what oldest Allie feels but can't express absolutely BROKE ME. Maryanne Plunkett as oldest Allie is just devastatingly good.

It's a bit sad that it didn't get more Tony love but it did get pretty bad reviews, which intellectually I can understand somewhat but I felt like critics were bristling about a show being so emotional (and I guess they found it very mechanical) but I think that people like me are responding to lived experience with dementia, as much as the romance.
