Broadway cast of The Notebook musical performs on Today

Broadway Week continues on Today! The Notebook is a musical adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks book and the 2004 movie starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. The music was written by Ingrid Michaelson. Maryann Plunkett and Dorian Harewood both received Tony nominations for their roles in the show. One reason to appreciate the show is the diverse casting. There are three sets of actors playing Noah and Allie, and the show chose not to cast them based on their physical similarities (two of the Allie actresses are Black and the third is white, while two of the Noah actors are white and the third is Black)
