I'm hoping that the back half wraps it up nicely. It was pretty weak even tho I was twirling my hair at some scenes lol. I thought Colin was lying about his travels at first to impress people but I guess they happened. He was awkward lol

Cressida can get out. Idc. Benedict idek where that's going other than maybe getting his heart broken? Showing us he's straight. Eloise needs to shush. It's okay for women to like embroidery ma'am.

If we had more of Francesca I'd probably care a bit more but I did like their scenes. Him running away from her only to give her music later made me chuckle.

I'm worried that Benedict's current partner is going to be related to his *true love* which would be so gross.

I also think she could be the show version of Lady Penwood. I haven't read the book so I don't know if her daughters have a big role but the show could get rid of them as Lady Arnold doesn't have kids. She is dressed like an evil step-mother!

Colin switching personalities is baffling. He was never a rake, and it's not believable to make him one.

Make-up and outfits. This picture of Kate from episode 5 is a travesty. The stylist for the show should be fired.

I think they were trying to portray Colin as someone who wasn't really a rake, but was trying to put on that persona because he thought it was what was expected/what he saw his older brothers and friends doing. It definitely was not very well done, though.

Yep, agreed. His rakish behavior was cringy, but it was supposed to be, because it was a put on.

Also felt like to me that secondary stories were over shadowing the main couple. It didn't feel like there enough Polin moments to make the ending of episode 4 earned. I needed more of him teaching her, her being awkward and them just being actual friends.

Lord Debling can get it tho. Plant husband, rich, will be gone most of the time? For the time period sign me up.

It will backfire on the showrunners if they continue to spend more time on supporting characters rather than the main cast, as they began doing last season. It's a romance, first of all.

they didn't do enough with debling tbh. like, he should've been a real threat instead of just the most convenient option/good on paper.

I was expecting him to be an actual threat but he was just there.

The switch in showrunner and not using the creator anymore really hurt it.

New person dropped the ball. The writing, editing and pacing were all weak this time around. It even looks different, with the sets and make up and costumes. I’m assuming the final decision on those also came from the showrunner.

They’re about to kick off next season in June. They need to figure their issues out or bring the old showrunner back. I want to see at least Francesca and Eloise’s seasons. But not like this.

Is that what happened? I was watching the first episode last night and the lighting is HORRENDOUS. What they they going for because this has never been the show for historical accuracy.
