I think it's pretty easy to hold a moral ground when you're working jobs no one's being exposed to on larger scales but not all of us have that option. I make a point to not accept things that go directly against my personal beliefs, and I use my position at work to speak up on relevant issues but I'm just one person who doesn't really hold that much power. Also, why do people think it's so hard~ to use they/them? My niece (a 9 year old) was wondering if one of the neighbor kids was a boy or a girl, and my mom explained to her what NB is, and she automatically started calling the kid they/them. If my goofy 9 year old niece can get it right away, it's not that fucking complicated.
