But I can understand the dislike. I don't cape hard for it, like I don't go telling people "no this is the best place ever, it's amazing, you're missing out" like some people do because it sure as shit isn't perfect and I just think going that hard for a city is odd.

There's a lot about LA I like but the high price of living + terrible public transportation system really kills it for me. But sometimes I'll go to like Santa Monica or certain areas in Venice and I'm like "yeah, the vibes are great."

I think it doesn't help that the two other big cities I lived in were New York and Rio de Janeiro and they're both really pedestrian friendly and have great public transport, so they spoiled me on that front.
