Their move to Miami seemed to be the nail in the coffin but im still not understanding why they moved there in the first place? Seems a random location. Nick lives in LA, i think Kevin still lives in Jersey, their parents are in North Carolina. Im guessing she went along with whatever Joe wanted in the big decisions (since shes mentioning him being older than her has been a factor in their relationship) and then later realized hmmm I dont really like this. Surely she knew she didnt have any acquaintances in Florida before moving there? 🤔

He probably wanted the Miami lifestyle, partying options and DJ gigs - without really thinking if it made sense for his family

She never wanted it, but he did. The other poster nailed it. And he had friends there (in fact I think his best friend lives in Miami) plus the tax breaks are a nice incentive as well for him as well.

I get talking about this, but I'm like, dude, your daughter will read this someday and know that everyone knows this...the only comfort I would have if my mom publicly shared this is that people's memories are so short, but then again internet is forever...

TBF, that's a really honest answer from her. We kind of get sold this idea that you should be thrilled and SO HAPPY to be pregnant at 24, and/or the "when I was 24 I was pregnant with you" speech. Good for her on talking openly about it.

People saying they're fine with knowing this about themselves I don't think is contemplating the feelings of a 13 year old girl who reads this about her mother.

As a 30 something, you might be fine with it, but 30 is not the age she'll learn it.

I may be wrong, some of you might have learnt that in your teens but it would have wrecked teenage me. Now, I would get it, but as a teenager...

“Because my ex and I travel so much, I wanted Willa to have a sibling,” she explained to British Vogue.

That's not a reason to have a kid and honestly I wish women in particular would be a lot more discriminatory about not only WHO they procreate with but in what circumstances. Do not tie yourself genetically and legally to someone until you know for certain they aren't a walking red flag. Sad to see so many people making this mistake (but then again what would the AITA subreddit look like if not for stupid ass men and their weaponized incompetence when it comes to children).
