Anya Taylor-Joy only has about 30 lines of dialogue in "Furiosa," spent "months" not speaking on set and pushed director George Miller to let her scream on camera.

“I’ve never been more alone than making that movie...I am a really strong advocate of female rage. We’re animals,… pic.twitter.com/jCYkpIPAAr

When she says female rage, I hope she realizes and is confirming WHITE female rage. Because if a Black woman is seen angry in a movie or real life, our rage is used against us as "You guys are always angry." For Latinx women, I remember they were put as "spicy" and their rage was the joke of the show or just, "Look how adorable my angry wife is." Modern Family.

I almost caught myself slipping because o was like “ouhhh I love female rage” but realized I could only think of white womens are mad media. Like besides maybe How To Get Away with Murder I can’t really think of any media that’s deals with WOC and their rage besides maybe the kdrama The Glory 🫤

I remember "Waiting to Exhale", I heard people say "I will destroy you" was great and "Diary of a Mad Angry Black Woman." And those movies were directed by Black people. "Waiting to Exhale" was made by Forrest Whittaker, "I May Destroy You" by Michaela Cole, and Tyler Perry for "Diary of a Mad Angry Black Woman." Each showed Black female rage and the consequences of that rage as well as humanizing us.

"How to Get Away from Murder", and "Scandal" both were made by Shonda Rhimes

I'm so dumb because I've seen all of these. I guess I was thinking of more modern productions. I think The Color Purple counts as well even though it was directed by white man Steven.

“I’ve never been more alone than making that movie. I don’t want to go too deep into it, but everything that I thought was going to be easy was hard.”

i wonder what she means by everything she thought was going to be easy?

Anya Taylor-Joy won't reveal why she felt extremely isolated while filming 'Furiosa': 'Talk to me in 20 years' https://t.co/lkHtFxQLtq

Yeah, reading this yesterday definitely made me do a double take. Like surely she had some idea that the filming process would be isolating and difficult after all the talk from the set of Fury Road, so what else was going on??
