Anya Taylor-Joy only has about 30 lines of dialogue in "Furiosa," spent "months" not speaking on set and pushed director George Miller to let her scream on camera.

That makes sense.

Honestly the only memorable lines were from the baddies~ so yeah. Give me more lmao

Female rage is so fun to watch onscreen. I can't wait for this movie.

I'm surprised they did it for the character of Furiosa. Cause yeah the actual Mad Max character barely talks in the original trilogy but I guess it fits since both characters go through trauma.

I AM PUMPED FOR THIS!! Curious about the box office cause I could see it maybe not making it's box office but being critically acclaimed like Fury Road but hopefully I'm wrong!!

"“I’ve never been more alone than making that movie. I don’t want to go too deep into it, but everything that I thought was going to be easy was hard.”

Lol George is not always the greatest of directors when it comes to pulling what he wants from the actors. The issues that Tom and Charlize had on Fury Road could've been easily meditated by George but he allowed that tension because their character had similar tension.

Yeah im curious about the box office too. Mad Max: Fury Road lost money but I guess it made enough and it was so critically acclaimed Furiosa got green lit. I think Furiosa will probably lose money too but the question is will it still do enough at the box office and have enough critical acclaim to get another Mad Max movie greenlit?

I dont really understand box office projections but I lurk the box office subreddit when im bored at work and they seem to be cautiously optimistic.

I personally am waiting for official reviews to drop before I reserve a ticket!

Fury Road
Budget:$154.6-185.1 million
Box office: $380.4 million

Furiosa

Budget: $168 million

Roughly around the same budget as Fury Road.

Furiosa is shaky but I think~ it has a bit of better chance maybe because the Mad Max franchise had a 30 year gap between Thunderdome (1985) and Fury Road (2015) and you had a new Max and brand new characters coming in. That franchise was not too too familiar with the current generation at the time. But the movie was the most critically acclaimed movie of that year (and I think it won than Spotlight who won BP at that Oscar that year) and has only continued with that cause of the sfx. So I think Furiosa might benefit from a newer semi-established fanbase and familiarity with the franchise compared to 2015.

I mean it could still not meet box office expectations but I do think the fanbase is at least more there than in the past so hopefully we get a decent opening!

I'm so there opening weekend! So far the reviews seem to be positive.

That’s true! At the time Mad Max: Fury Road came out I had no idea what a Mad Max was lol, i wasn’t even alive when the first three came out. I only watched it because I heard good things from other people and then after I liked it I went back and watched the other Mad Max movies. But this time around the younger generations actually know what Mad Max is so that’s going to help.

It’ll probably lose money too but if it can do close to Mad Max: Fury Road + critical acclaim it might be good enough to get another film greenlit. People on the box office subreddit said the opening numbers look decent so far so if the film has some longevity it should be okay.

I think we might get official reviews after it shows at Cannes this week but im not sure!
