Look, I grew up on a soap opera. And it used to bother me when actors would later talk about the show with guilt or shame. Humility goes a long way.

I like this part.

"...tell that to the billons who watch them. Were they wrong?"
Yes. The general public is full of idiots.

Yea I always laugh when people appeal to popularity like, have you met humans? Not as impressive as you're trying to pretend.

It has been FIVE YEARS and these people couldn't bother to read what Scorsese actually said;

The Oscar winner later clarified that his frustration was not about the
quality of Marvel movies but about the dominance of them in the
marketplace. He argued that superhero movies were driving indie films
and mid-budget movies out of exhibition.

"but the audience likes them!" newsflash, that doesn't equal quality, which isn't even what he was saying. then sleep with that, read the updated version of his thoughts, and if a reporter brings it up, leave it at "I have great respect for them."

He said a *lot* more than that initially. He wrote an entire essay for the New York Times about it.

‘We don’t get paid to make the good lines sound good, but to make the bad ones work.’ That stuck with me.”

I like this part. Not that they have to but I like when actors remember where they started. Thor is a hard character to play and for the most part I think he really made the part work.

I think he plays Thor well and cannot imagine someone else playing him.

He's a great Thor. I particularly like how he brought the character to life in Ragnarok. (I know a lot of people hate that movie, but that's when Thor and Loki really clicked for me as characters. The chaotic chemistry between them was great.)

Scorsese lives rent free in their heads. lol

I understand his comments on humility and definitely think more actors should embrace that. We all start somewhere.

But I think it’s ok for former actors/directors to critique Marvel/Disney and their experiences on set. Marvel had a history of throwing POC and marginalized groups under the bus.

The way the treated Nia DaCosta in particular was disgusting.
