I met my now BF on Bumble during an "I don't want to deal with men anymore"

I really think when you stop looking and expecting it happens, I was totally just going on a date bc I was bored and he managed to convince me he was 100% into me since day 1. Still, we know women are at risk when going to meet randoms from dating apps.

I'm still completely team bear tho. Just bc you may find some decent ones (rare) doesn't mean 99% are not shit.

"I really think when you stop looking and expecting it happens" I don't disagree but I really really hate this 'advice' and I wish ppl would stop saying it

its ironic too that this type advice usually comes from people who believe in manifestation. like which is it?

There is some truth to it because some people really put out "I NEED A MAN/WOMAN anyone will do is it you?" vibes on a date and it's extremely offputting. Desperation is the world's worst cologne.

i'm currently in a celibate period of my life. i'm trying to stay clean, so going on grindr like i used to and hooking up with every dl dude i find would probably cause me to relapse.

i used to get myself into pretty dangerous situations and i just don't want to put myself there anymore. especially as a trans woman. it's dangerous even on grindr.

sounds like you're deciding what's best for you, which is always commendable even when it is not fun. congrats on trying to stay clean!

If I didn't have my bf, I'd probably be single by choice. The dating scene has deteriorated since we met in (Oct 2019) and it was already bad then. I met him on Tinder. He has in his bio he liked industrial music and that kept me from swiping left bc I was on a height queen kick and he's 5'9". Plus he's beautiful BUT he had this one pic that kinda resembled Ben Shapiro. I've told him he looks like the actor they'd hire for a Ben Shapiro gay porn and he told me that's a huge compliment because gay men have high standards.

Anyway, these ads are fucking weird and feel bizarrely passive aggressive. I don't know who would think this is at all motivating.

Eww these ads leave a bad taste in my mouth and are annoying. Why not target them at men.

Does this also coincide with the co-founder speculating that AI is the future of dating? And using AI to go on “dates” to weed out who you should actually meet?

my jaw was on the floor when I saw these ads. Absolutely disgusting and as someone who works in design and advertising, I cannot believe these taglines made it through the rounds necessary and actually into print. Like users on tiktok are saying, it just goes to show you how much monetary value women have in our capitalist society and how us not having sex and refusing to be with bad men hurts their profits.

Thay reminds me of that ashley madison reveal showing that 95-99% of the women on that site were fake.
