PJ was at the studio's mercy with The Hobbit. If they actually let him do his thing this time around I believe he can deliver something much closer to LOTR's quality.

Didn't he come in late as well? Like most of the story and visuals had been decided while del Toro was due to direct and then PJ swooped in

Yeah and they apparently had to re-do an awful lot of it after the director change. They couldn’t use Del Toro’s vision, although he is credited as a script consultant or something akin to that.

I’m honestly surprised that Jackson would want to even produce after, well. Everything. Having said that, I just checked TORn to confirm this (old habits lol) and looks like it’s gonna be “Hunt for Gollum” which ehh... I guess I should rewatch the fan film and think about this before I have more opinions. Anyway Andy being involved suddenly makes this make much more sense.

I’m so grateful Zemeckis won’t allow them to mess with the perfection that is the BttF series. Star Wars and now LOTR have become so cheapened to me due to the constant need to capitalize on it at every turn. Thats enough!
