I thought he gave a great performance in Andor though. Then again I loved Andor but know it wasn’t for everyone 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m excited. I know the hobbit ended up being a mess, but I feel like this could have potential to be great. Until I see it for myself, I will remain hyped.

Is there any part of modern LOTR media that doesn't focus on the characters of Fellowship? That side story, maybe? I mean we talk about Star Wars being firmly up the ass of the Skywalker Family but every time I turn around with LOTR it's "We gotta talk about Gollum for the 9th time"

The Silmarillion is full of great stories, but I don't think anybody has the rights to make films or shows based on that so they have to look for scraps in the appendix (idk the plural of that wordxD) of LOTR and the Hobbit.

[This might be plot spoilers idk]I am not sure what exactly this story will be about, I know that I think Gandalf and Aragorn or someone went to look for Gollum at some point (I think after Gandalf starts to suspect something is up with Bilbos old ring), but they only get him once he has already reached Mordor and was tortured and questioned there. He then is kept in Mirkwood I think, which is why Legolas is also at the Council meeting in Fellowship, to report that Gollum has escaped (at least that's how it is in my audio play version of the book). I don't know if there is that much story there for a film. Maybe they cover how Gollum ended up in Mordor, but not sure that is that interesting for audiences? I can only speak for myself but I wouldn't care xD

I am reserving judgement.

The best thing about the Hobbit was the improvement of Gollum's look so if it stays or surpasses that level, it could be good. Andy is protective of that character so knowing that he will also be directing...we'll have to see!
