And her explanation is that she forgot how to pronounce the designer's name because "it's a little bit complicated." His name is Sensen Lii. It's three syllables, two of which are the same. How is that complicated?
In the same video, she also said that she described him as "Asian" because she didn't know if he was Chinese, Korean, or Vietnamese so in her eyes, she was being respectful by not naming the wrong country. It's appalling to me that she would ask someone to spend two months making this humongous custom gown and not once ask her team, his team, or the internet for details like that.
Exactly. This designer put months of work for what I'm guessing was zero pay in exchange for exposure at a fashion event. The absolute very least you can do in exchange for getting a free dress that cost thousands of dollars/hours to construct is to say the designer's name on the red carpet.
