This show was a tad confusing, with its wonky accents, family drama, low budget, weird colour balance, and blue-grey filter.
Abidemi is a name given to someone born while the father is away. Abidemi's family are supposed to be poor immigrants living in America - I guess the father could have been in another state when she was born, but the name choice troubled me - lol. Also, what war were they running away from?

Did Parish's wife and daughter leave him in the end?

I think we're supposed to assume that they left him but I wouldn't be surprised if the Chicago big bad already kidnapped them.

How was the show? I like Giancarlo but I heard mixed things and I'm on a backlog.

Pros: it's only six episodes long, Giancarlo is excellent as always, and the show was shot on location in New Orleans.

Cons: it's not awful but it's also not great.
