Fun fact: Giancarlo Esposito was a member of the original 1981 Broadway production of Merrily We Roll Along, which was the Broadway debut of several future Tony winners/nominees including Jason Alexander, Liz Callaway, and Tonya Pinkins. The Sondheim show famously closed after 16 performances and was considered a chaotic failure. The new Broadway revival starring Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff, and Lindsay Mendez was just nominated for 7 Tonys last week.
